Los Angeles boasts some of the most beautiful mountain ranges, biodiversity, and urban parks in the world – and we’re ready to get your students out there in a fun and safe way! We’ll explore age-appropriate hikes with a mix of sensory awareness games, natural history journaling, and teamwork activities along the way.Â
Our combination of experienced and friendly staff, spectacular outdoor classrooms, community building techniques, and long-term mentorship will provide your child with connections to nature, their peers, and themselves.Â
These adventures bring what students are learning in the classroom into an exciting real-world context, and give them the depth of experience you always wanted for them. They may even discover a new subject or passion!

These destinations will all be ~20 mins away from Eagle Rock Elementary.
The monthly location line-up will be sent out via email so you’ll know exactly where we’ll be! We will also send out a location reminder the day before via SLACK messaging application.
Safety: Our order of operations is Safety, Safety, and Fun!
Covid – We have had outstanding success with our covid-19 protocols during the entirety of the pandemic, and that’s due in huge part to our community of kids and family members who have been taking it very seriously. We’ll still be taking temperatures at the start of programming, hand sanitizing before/after eating or sharing any items, and wearing masks during the entirety of the program except for 6 ft-distanced breaks, water sips, and snack.Â
In addition to our COVID Protocols, the following will apply to our van transportation
While in the vans:
What to Wear: Dress for Success!
Dress for after-school adventures when you go to school! That way everyone has comfortable clothes for hiking, exploring, and having fun!
Inclement Weather or Water Days?
SLACK messages will go out the day before the program and include any clothing recommendations, so you can pack and dress for the elements.
Sun and Heat: We are extremely conscious of weather conditions and heat and plan accordingly.Â
Rain: What is that again? We check the weather before each day and will send a reminder email to parents to pack appropriate attire. If torrential rain is predicted we will locate to space that has appropriate rain covering.Â
Study Hall: Let’s get some homework done first!
Homework –Â The first *30 or *45 minutes of program time will be for kids to dive into their homework. Our educators will bring clipboards, knowledge, and patience to support your student for this block of the program.Â
*depending on age group
We are not professional tutors but we are more than equipped to support your students if questions arise, and to provide them a time allocated for homework. While this is not a guarantee that all their homework will be completed, but an opportunity to work on it with some supervision.
Water and Snacks:Â
Snacks – We do not provide snacks so please plan accordingly and pack some extra food on days your student(s) will be joining us for after-school programming!
Water – We will have plenty of water on hand so folks can refill before we start our day, and refill while we’re out on the trail/exploring.Â
