Nicole Paravicini

Nicole (she/they) has always harbored a curiosity and wonderment for nature. She grew up walking beneath awe-inspiring redwood trees, and along the chilly coastline of Mendocino County. She was lucky to be surrounded by natural beauty, but also by friends and teachers who modeled stewardship principles and climate activism to her from a young age. Through their community-building efforts, she was able to participate in programs that supported a relationship of respect and reciprocity between herself and the natural world. She is excited to continue that work from a teaching perspective with Biocitizen.

Nicole graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from Southern Oregon University. During her last year of school and subsequent years, Nicole worked as an advocate for survivors of domestic violence, and as a care manager for folks with co-occurring mental health diagnoses. Her primary interest is in creating systemic change through the strengthening of community; in this, she believes connecting with our environment is essential.

When she is not at work, Nicole can be found splashing around at the beach, learning how to paint, and walking her neighborhood dogs. She looks forward to connecting with students in the seasons ahead!
